Actress and former beauty queen Miriam Quiambao announced her engagement to author-businessman Eduardo “Ardy” Roberto, Jr. on her Instagram and Twitter accounts Sunday.
In what appears to be an early morning run at the Bonifacio High Street gardens, Roberto popped the question to the 1999 Miss Universe 1st runner-up with a huge streamer that said, “Miriam (Babe), Will You Marry Me”.

As acknowledged by Miriam, among the few friends who witnessed the momentous occasion were celebrity couple Anthony Pangilinan and Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan and seven others. Pangilinan himself posted more photos on Instagram.
Miriam and Ardy were both previously married. Miriam’s marriage to Italian restaurateur Claudio Rondinelli ended in divorce in 2006. Ardy was widowed early this year when wife Tingting Roberto lost her battle against lupus.
On film, Miriam was last seen in the Eugene Domingo blockbuster “Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme” last year. She was also in the cast of TV5’s “The Jose and Wally Show Starring Vic Sotto” which began airing in 2011.
Several celebrities also posted their best wishes to the newly-engaged couple on Twitter including actresses Coney Reyes and Iza Calzado.
