Ten years after winning “Star for a Night” and being christened the country’s Pop Princess, Sarah Geronimo is still all about touching people’s lives with her songs.

The 25-year-old multi-awarded recording artist and concert performer said during her contract signing with Xtreme Magic Sing hours ago at the Rembrandt Hotel in Quezon City that she is now including in her shows other singing styles, aside from belting songs. Sarah actually made a name for herself as a “belter,” a phase she went through because of her musical influences.

Now, she’s keen on discovering more her own voice or sound and singing style and sharing it with her “global Sarah-natics.”

As a singer and performer, Sarah admitted that touching people’s hearts when she sings has always been an “extreme challenge” for her as performer.

“Being an effective singer para sa akin talaga is hindi siya yung high notes, yung linis ng pagkanta but yung connection mo sa tao. Sabi nga ni Ms. Patty Austin, you have to make the people believe about what you’re singing. Hit the notes from the heart,” intimated Sarah.

Sarah humbly confessed that there have been times she wasn’t singing “from the heart.” Her audience may not have noticed it but deep inside her, she wasn’t satisfied with her performance.

“There are times that I just sing pero nararamdaman ko sa sarili ko na hindi ako sincere sa pagkanta ko so parang wala lang so pangit yung himig na yun, frustrating,” she shared.

Sarah added that those times happen when she’s “dead tired,” when she focuses on technical aspects of her singing or when she is depressed.

“Kapag malungkot ka or depressed or broken-hearted ka tapos kumakanta ka ng masayang kanta or love song parang di tama. Parang role playing din talaga siya kailangang kalimutan mo ang lahat ng personal mong problema. Dapat get into character palagi?” Sarah related.

Sarah is a versatile singer and performer. Her numerous awards and citations and her influence to the youth as well as her peers speak of what Sarah has become in 10 years. And these are just some of the reasons Xtreme Magic Sing has had her as their celebrity endorser for seven years now. And like Sarah who’s out there to showcase her new vocal stylings, so does Xtreme with their Platinum and Diamond models that are now HD Videoke.

“She has a lifetime contract with us,” kidded Cong. Eric Singson who is Chairman of Astra Group, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Xtreme Magic Sing in the Philippines. “I think you should, if you don’t mind, try the other brands and compare it to our brand. I think Xtreme Magic Sing is still the best. We’ve seen the others who are trying to catch up with us and the features we have, we are the quality one and much much better.”

By the way, in the works for Sarah Geronimo is a new movie and her “Perfect 10″ concert on Nov. 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. This early, Vic del Rosario, the big boss of Viva Entertainment, has already scheduled a repeat.
