Sunshine Cruz knows how hard it is to save-up for a house for her daughters, but when the time to file an annulment against her estranged husband Cesar Montano comes, she said she won’t regret the money she’ll be spending for the case.
“Mas panghihinayangan naman natin kung pareho kaming hindi magiging masaya sa buhay. So part yan ng moving on. Kung kinakailangang gumastos eh di pagtrabahuhan. Ganun talaga,” said Sunshine.
The 36-year-old dramatic actress said that she and her lawyer are ready to file for annulment but she just couldn’t disclose the details yet. Before she files though, she has other pressing legal matters to tend to like the hearing for child custody set on Oct. 11.
On buying a house, Sunshine revealed that she’s really working hard to earn enough for a “simple, beautiful and safe house” for her daughters. She is also aware that it will take time even with her current jobs – a role on ABS-CBN’s afternoon soap opera titled “Galema” and as the new endorser of Ever Bilena.
“Paano ako bibili ng bahay hindi pa sapat ang kinikita ko,” quipped Sunshine, adding that she used-up her savings from her previous showbiz career in the 13 years that she was jobless. She pointed out that she then was just dependent on the allowance that Cesar would give her.
Sunshine’s “house-solution” so far is to transfer with her daughters to her mom’s house in ParaƱaque when her rent contract expires on February 2014. They currently live in the house that Cesar’s been paying for P55,000 a month, said Sunshine. Other expenditures shouldered by her estranged hubby are the tuition fee of their daughters and the salary of their daughter’s driver.
“I’m planning to transfer to that house habang nag-iipon muna kasi my mom offered it naman. Kasi pagnatapos kami by February, saan na kami ng mga bata? Kaya sacrifice muna,” said Sunshine.
For now, Sunshine is beaming with joy over her Ever Bilena endorsement. She was the company’s image model for their Blue Detergent product in 1999 but this was cut short when she got married months after.
“Hindi ko na-imagine that they will get me again to endorse for them. Sana ma-extend.”
To set the record straight, Sunshine detailed how and why her hubby’s lawyer disclosed that she was allegedly angry that Cesar didn’t give in to her alleged demand from him to buy her a house.
She recalled that when Cesar was trying to win her back or was pursuing her, she was told to look for a house and he will help her. Cesar even told her that he found a house that costs P25 million which she declined since it was “too big” and too expensive.
“Sabi ko nga sa kanya, kahit mag-loan na lang ako sa kanya and I’ll pay him monthly kasi hindi ako makapag-loan sa bangko kasi I need a three-year contract from a certain station para mabigyan ako ng loan. Eh sabi ko wala naman akong contract. Ako naman si tanga-tanga, hanap ng hanap ng bahay. Tapos I update them. So tingin-tingin ako sa Filinvest, may nakita akong P10 million, worth P13M so nire-report ko sa kanya at sa lawyer. Ginamit ng lawyer sa akin at sinabing nagpapabili raw ako at di raw binigay sa akin ni Buboy kaya raw ako nagagalit. Sabi ko oh my God that’s not true,” claimed Sunshine.
One of the things she learned from her separation from Cesar is, “I learned to appreciate a lot of things right now na before hindi ko na-appreciate. Hindi mga material things pero friends, mga taong nandyan talaga para sa akin at masasabi kong kaibigan ko talaga.”
