Now it can be told: the “kiss” between Dennis Trillo and Tom Rodriguez on “My Husband’s Lover” did not make it to the finale episode. Prior, a photo of the kiss circulated online proving that they did lock lips.
While many were disappointed with the edit, lead star Tom Rodriguez, who play “the husband” Vincent, accepts that such a decision is not up to them.
At least, as performers, kami ni Dennis (who plays ‘the lover’ Eric) ay nagampanan namin ang tungkulin namin,” said he in a recent interview.
Tom recalled shooting the kissing scene.
In a recent interview with Bulletin Entertainment, Tom’s “MHL” stars Carla Abellana and Dennis commended him for being a “revelation” to the series.
An ecstatic Tom said, “Ang sarap na sila mismo ang nagsasabi noon. It’s nice to think na at least they value din the hard work that I’m putting in…ayoko naman na ako ’yung baguhan na pupunta dun tapos parang hindi ko seseryosohin ang trabaho.”
Life After ‘MHL’
Tom’s next project is the gay-themed film “Bekikang,” where he plays leading man to Bekikang himself, Joey Paras.
Tom doesn’t mind being paired with a gay actor as he is very accepting of the third gender.
He explained, “Siguro sa pagpapalaki sa akin ’yun. My parents are very supportive and (they said) you accept everyone as they are.
After the farewell concert “One More Try: My Husband’s Lover Concert” last Oct. 12, Tom said “MHL” will go on US tour in November. Prior, Tom will be taking a breather in Singapore a few days from now.
Apart from “Bekikang,” Tom is busy promoting his and Dennis’ “TomDen” album. He will also be reuniting with Carla in the Regal Films’ romantic comedy “Let’s Take a Chance.”
