Hello, my lovely friend, Giselle!!
Hope all is well…
What a joy it was to work with and sing with you and to get to know you on the tour. You’re “off the charts” in terms of talent and such a nice and extraordinary person as well. I really look forward to seeing you again when I’m next in the city!
I wanted to pick up on our partial talk about “The Way To Happiness.” This is an amazing little booklet written by Humanitarian, L. Ron Hubbard, containing 21 common sense moral “precepts” to help people make the right choices in life and I’ve seen it work miracles with individuals, families, groups and even whole countries! Statistically, it has helped bring calm to the Middle East, reduce crime in South America and generate understanding between parents and children from Inner Cities to the remotest farm towns.
To illustrate my point, I recently heard about a mother, Leah, living in California with her son, Anthony. He was following the ways of the “teens” who are his friends and began to be more and more aloof and distant from Leah and she even suspected that he was involved with drugs.
They began to argue because of this and it only made their relationship worse.
A friend gave Leah a copy of the film version of “The Way To Happiness” (based on the booklet) and, because it showed aspects of the kind of life her son was leading, she decided that maybe they should watch it together. They just watched a section of the film called, “Love And Help Children.”
The change occurred the very next day when Anthony left the house for work, as usual… but this time, he came back to kiss his mother goodbye.
After the door closed behind him, she pulled a tissue out of her pocket and dried her eyes.
My wife, Kelly, and I introduced this book to the PNRC a few years back when there was trouble in Mindanao (where it was used to great effect) and also several provincial schools have since piloted a program based on its precepts, as well. In fact, there is an entire curriculum for schools which you can see online.
In short, I am amazed by the powerful effects made by this little book on people all over the world.
Here is the link to their website where you can get a more direct experience of what it’s all about. There are even selections from the film up there you can watch, each portraying one of the concepts, so you can see/feel it in action.

Also, because “The Way To Happiness” is secular in nature, it complements beautifully any religion.
Let me know what you think. It is my sincere wish that this may serve to help Filipinos and their families in a meaningful way.
Love to you and yours. See you soon!

I personally checked out the website and was astounded with the easy to follow precepts that can make you lead a happy life. I summarized it to share with all of you and I sincerely hope it helps you in your personal journey to happiness.
The Way to Happiness:
1. Take care of yourself. Eat properly, get enough rest, keep your body and teeth clean, and get medical care when you are ill.
2. Be calm and temperate. Do not take drugs, and alcohol (intake) should not be in excess.
3. Don’t be promiscuous. Be faithful to your partner.
4. Love and help children.
5. Honor and help your parents.
6. Set a good example.
7. Seek to live the truth. False data can cause one to make stupid mistakes.
8. Do not murder.
9. Don’t do anything illegal.
10. Support a government-designed (program) and run for people.
11. Do not harm a person of good will.
12. Safeguard and improve your environment.
13. Do not steal.
14. Be worthy of trust.
15. Fulfill your obligations.
16. Be industrious.
17. Be competent. Look, learn and practice.
18. Respect the religious beliefs of others.
19. Try not to do things to others that you would not like them to do to you.
20. Flourish and prosper. If one’s aims in life are worthwhile, one certainly will wind up the victor.
