Miss Supranational Mutya Johanna Datul is positive that the Philippines’ representative to the 62nd Miss Universe Ariella “Ara” Arida will take home the crown.

“Oh my God – yes! We will pray for her…alam kong kayang-kaya ng friend ko ’yun,” Mutya told the press at the launch of Pizza Hut’s “Make It Great” campaign.

Describing Ara as “…girl na, palaban, hindi sumusuko sa lahat, as in talagang wala siyang kinatatakutan,” the 21-year-old beauty said with conviction, “Alam kong sa ganda ng puso niya, sobrang madasalin niya, alam ko na, she will make it – the crown of Miss Universe.”

Mutya has seen firsthand Ara’s progress as a beauty queen, from starting out as good friends in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas, to the time they trained together for their respective international competitions under the local pageant’s director Stella Marquez-Araneta.

Sobrang workout talaga siya,” she exclaimed.

Mutya pointed out, “Hindi lang about sa walking, or sa pag-pose, importante din talagang makita nila ’yung pag-prepare mo sa katawan mo. Iba kasi ’yung factor na, pag nakita nila na always ready ka – kasi everyday ma-e-expose yung katawan mo, makikita nila ’yung pinag-workout mo, lahat ng mga pinagtrabahuhan mo – marami kang ma-i-inspire, mas maraming mga tao dun na (who would be saying) ‘She (is) perfect to be crowned as Miss Universe,’ ’di ba?”

Mutya’s advice to Ara: “Gagawin niya lahat ng makakaya niya. And then, pray lang siya, i-enjoy niya ’yung pageant.

Beauty from within

With the country already having two titles under its belt this year, the first Asian and Filipino to win the title of Miss Supranational shared her thoughts on what she considers the Pinay winning factor.
