Fans of the Superstar, Nora Aunor, have stirred quite a buzz lately when a supposed list of nominees allegedly submitted by the joint boards of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts purportedly leaked on Facebook, Tuesday.
According to the list, Aunor was supposedly nominated this year under the Film and Broadcast Arts category.
Also named candidates in the list were: Jose Ma. Zaragoza (Architecture), Cirilo Bautista (Literature), Alice Reyes (Dance), Francisco Coching (Visual Arts) and Francisco Feliciano (Music).
While fans continue to push for her nomination, the 60-year-old veteran singer-actress explained in an interview with ABS-CBN News that commenting on the matter would be a tad too premature at this point.
“Huwag muna po kasi hindi naman natin alam eh,” she said.
Aunor, however, was quick to express her gratitude to those who support the call to name her as National Artist.
“Sa lahat ng mga tumutulong at nakikipaglaban pa rin, maraming salamat sa kanilang lahat,” she said.
Only last year, Bacolod Representative Anthony Golez Jr. filed House Resolution 2317 seeking to name Aunor as National Artist.
