‘Sapi’ in Brisbane

Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s “Sapi” was recently shown at the Brisbane International Film Festival. The film was described as “deeply unsettling and gleefully macabre... edgy provocation in an age of 24-hour news.” Mendoza was cited for his “lethal satirical eye and a spine-tingling sense of atmosphere.” Last year, his “Thy Womb” had sold-out screenings in the same fest.
