TV hosts Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino were both named Outstanding Program Hosts at the 2nd Asia Rainbow TV Awards in Macau.
Abunda earned the recognition for his interview with Ladlad’s first Congressional nominee Bemz Benedito regarding gay rights on “The Bottomline with Boy Abunda.”
Aquino, on the other hand, was recognized for “Kris TV’s” special episode on Palawan.
Aquino shared on Instagram a photo of herself at the event together with director Lauren Dyogi, who accepted the award in behalf of Abunda.
Waxing sentimental, she posted in a separate photo, “You welcomed me back as part of your morning habit June 27, 2011… It’s so gratifying that you’ve stuck it out & in fact have come to enjoy the ‘reality’ of me being Kris.”
The 43-year-old marks her 18th year as TV host on ABS-CBN this year.
“It has been 18 wonderful years of being a Kapamilya & I thank my bosses, co-workers & you my audience for having the patience to allow me to grow up, experience life, and I want to believe inspire all of you to have faith, work hard, share blessings, and appreciate everything that life has to offer. This 2014 is my ‘debut’ as a talk show host, MASARAP PALA MAGING ADULT,” she posted.
Aquino also currently hosts “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” and “The Buzz.”
