Raymart misses his children

Actor Raymart Santiago admits that while he manages to separate his personal battles from work, he doesn’t deny longing for that happy family he once had.

“Siyempre iniisip ko ’yung kinabukasan ng mga anak ko,” Raymart explained to “Balitanghali” on Friday.

For weeks now, the protection order filed by Claudine, Raymart has barred him from seeing his children.

“Siyempre ngayon ko lang nare-realize na ’yung dati kasi ’pag gising mo nandiyan lang sa tabi, minsan napapagalitan mo dahil ang kukulit ’di ba, araw-araw nakikita mo… ‘Stop it, stop it.’ Pero ngayon naiisip-isip mo ’di ba parang hindi mo sila nakakasama, ’yun ’yong nakakalungkot,” a teary-eyed Raymart confessed in an interview with GMA News.

As advice to working parents like him, he said, “Kung hangga’t kasama niyo ang mga anak niyo, hanggang nakikita niyo, i-treasure niyo. Hanggang may time ka, extra time, wala kang trabaho, ibuhos mo ’yung oras mo sa mga anak mo.”

While he isn’t ready yet to reconcile with his estranged wife, Raymart hopes to surpass their present ordeal for their sake and the children. He believes that “hindi naman nakakabuti sa aming dalawa ito. At the end of the day, pareho kaming talo dito.”

“Minsan naging buo ang pamilya pagkatapos biglang nawasak,” he lamented.
