The youngest member of boy band U-KISS will be leaving the group to live the life as an ordinary citizen for the time being.

NH Media, U-KISS’ agency, announced on Oct. 16 that Dongho, 19, will quit as member of the boy band due to health reasons.

The agency said Dongho’s desire to continue to promote as a celebrity has waned and that his state of health has been affected.

It added that the company talked to Dongho’s parents and accepted the singer’s desire and came up with the difficult decision.

NH Media apologized to fans for the sudden decision. It said there is no plan yet to replace Dongho in the group.

The announcement was made ahead of the release of U-KISS’ new album this month.

U-KISS performed at the K-pop Festival in Gangwon last Sept. 28 without Dongho.

With Dongho out of the group, U-KISS is left with six members: Kiseop, Soohyun, Eli, Hoon, AJ and Kevin.

This is the second time that there’s a change in the members of the boy band.

In February 2011, NH Media announced the departure of Alexander Eusebio and Kim Kibum from U-KISS.

The decision was protested by fans. NH Media said it was a mutual agreement but Kibum said he was forced to sign a document to dissolve his contract.

Eusebio made his last appearance as U-KISS member at a concert in Medan, Indonesia on March 5, 2011.

About two weeks after the announcement, the agency revealed AJ and Hoon as the new members of U-KISS.

Eusebio and Kim have since launched their solo careers.

Dongho is one of the original members of U-KISS, which debuted in 2008.
