Robi Domingo moves on from robbery incident

TV host Robi Domingo has a message to those who broke into his car and stole some items a few days ago.

“Sana yung gamit na nakuha niya magamit niya sa tamang pamamaraan. Sana ‘yung value nun ay (magamit) niya para sa tama. Kasi malapit na namang mag Pasko,” he said at the press conference for Kapamilya Network’s “I Dare You.”

Some of the stolen items were an iPad, cellphone and cash.

Robi commented on the thieves’ “expertise.”

“Mabait naman ‘yung magnanakaw. ‘Yung salamin, tinanggal niya, ibinalik naman niya sa loob. Kumbaga, hindi naman binasag, tinanggal lang niya.

“Professional siya eh. Parang may chisel, pinorma niya, minold niya… mabait naman siya to be fair,” he said in deadpan expression.

Though he was angry over the incident, his girlfriend Gretchen Ho made him feel better by putting things in perspective.

“Sabi niya, ‘Take this one as a blessing in disguise, kasi malay mo, buti ‘yun lang ang nangyari sa iyo. Hindi ka natutukan ng baril or natutukan ng kutsilyo. Or isipin mo na lang na talagang kinakailangan niya ‘yung amount na yun…’

Robi described Gretchen as one supportive and analytical; more, so “galing” and his “forever life coach.”

“Ang galing niya mag analyze ng mga sitwasyon kung ano ‘yung mga dapat kong gawin. Now I am very much on cloud nine. Sobrang saya, sobrang sarap ng feeling ko…”

The good vibe is further promoted by the big breaks he has been getting career-wise. After the good reviews he has gotten for his job on “The Voice of the Philippines,” Robi has been tapped to host the realiserye “I Dare You,” featuring celebrities and extraordinary Filipinos teaming up to face daring and inspiring real-life challenges.

According to a release, “I Dare You” will test the spirit, determination, and partnership of the “Celebrity Kakampi” and “Bidang Kapamilya,” who will work together to accomplish tasks. The co-hosts are John Prats, Melai Cantiveros and Janine Aguilar.

The Bidang Kapamilya are everyday Filipinos and unsung heroes who bravely confront tough challenges such as firemen, sports coaches, farmers, athletes, soldiers, traffic aides, teachers, and many others.

As for the celebrities, Robi said they are those who don’t go home on a daily basis, “and if they do, they come back to establish a connection, to relive the life of the Bidang Kapamilya.”

“It’s reality at its finest,” he was quoted to have said. “We will show that you don’t have to be an Andres Bonifacio or a Jose Rizal to be a hero. We will showcase people who may be doing simple things but have a big impact on others, who don’t look for extravagance and credit. These stories are worth-sharing and inspiring.”
