Rumors are rife about Shaina Magdayao and Piolo Pascual supposedly making sweet music together. Apparently, the two are often seen seemingly being all too cozy with each other.

Just recently, Magdayao and Pascual were seen holding hands in an event, a photo of which even went viral. Not a few fans quickly jumped the gun, already convinced of an ongoing romance between the two.

Shaking her head in disbelief about the whole brouhaha, Magdayao confirmed the photo but she was quick to downplay its significance.

“Grabe naman, agad agad? Hawak lang naman ng kamay yun,” she told Bulletin Entertainment in a recent interview, noting that, “Gentleman lang talaga si Papa P… at that time na na-picturan kami inaalalayan niya lang ako, lagi naman ‘yun ganoon eh.”

Magdayao maintained that Pascual isn’t even courting her.

“Hindi. Wala talaga… magkaibigan po kami really. He is a good friend, he has always been a good friend,” she reiterated.

The 24-year-old nevertheless admits they go out on group dates “noon ‘yun, nung may time pa ako at ‘nung may time pa siya. We’re both very, very busy right now.”

That said, Magdayao is seemingly open to the possibility of her friendship with Pascual going to the next level, saying, “Sino ba naman ang hindi makaka-like kay Papa P? Mabait na tao siya, he really has a good heart.”

Still, the actress would rather take it easy in the love department for now as “sa sobrang dami ng opportunities na dumarating sa akin gusto ko munang pangalagaan ‘yun.”

Although she thinks falling in love is “such a wonderful thing,” she quickly noted, “Actually, for the first time, pinagdadasal ko talaga na huwag muna…”

Currently, she has her hands full with the hit TV series “Juan Dela Cruz” where she has a recurring role and she is also doing the film “Pagpag,” an entry to the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival.

This November, Magdayao will also start working on ABS-CBN series “You’re My Home,” with Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Iza Calzado, Enchong Dee and Cherry Pie Picache, among others.

“Like I said, ang bigat ng schedule ko so wala talagang time din (for love),” she said. “Sa birthday ko nga (Nov. 6) ‘di ba usually umaalis ako? Eh sa ngayon, mukhang hindi na talaga ako makakaalis…”
