As the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee grilled Janet Lim-Napoles about her alleged involvement in the P10-billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam, celebrities were among the thousands of citizens that urged her to spill what she knows about the matter.
Actress Mae Paner, more popularly known as Juana Change, led the political rally outside the Senate building in Pasay City.
On Facebook, the celebrity activist posted a photo of herself where she is seated in a wheelchair, clad in prison garb and bullet proof vest with a barrel on her head that served as a crown.
Filipino music icon Jim Paredes, on the other hand, successively shared his thoughts on Napoles on Twitter. The 62-year-old activist sounded as frustrated as many with Napoles consistently invoking her right against self-incrimination.
“It’s so hard to tell the truth when you have lived a lie all along. If you wish to enter heaven you will do so kicking and screaming,” read one of his posts.
On “It’s Showtime,” comedian Vice Ganda also urged Napoles to speak up if she has nothing to hide.
“Kaya ngayon pong may pagkakataon, gumanti ka na sa kanila (politicians) kasi kung i-invoke mo ang right mo, kung ganyan lang nang ganyan, anong mangyayari sa pagdinig natin na ito?” Although this comment rang in laughter from his co-hosts and the studio audience, the sentiment was not any less felt.
“I suggest Napoles just tell the truth and take everyone down with you. That would even make u a hero for exposing corruption,” talent manager Pia Magalona added.
When Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago stood up to warn Napoles about her repetitive denial of any knowledge of matters she was accused of, the lady senator got the nod of several celebrities.

In the end, TV host Robi Domingo likened today’s pork barrel drama to a TV episode: “A good title for this hearing could be… Probing Napoles: “Hindi ko po alam,” he posted.
