The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has summoned officials and talents of GMA Network Inc. over what they deemed “discriminatory and derogatory portrayal of a woman” in the Nov. 29 episode of comedy gag show “Bubble Gang.”
The segment was “D’ Adventures of Susie Lualhati,” during which sexy comedienne Ruffa Mae Quinto showed how to make a puto bumbong that “gave the impression (quite arguably) that she was simulating ‘male self-abuse.’” A group of men were seen ogling the actress while she was releasing the puto bumbong out of the tube.
“It appears that the segment stereotypically portrayed a woman as an object of rather frivolous, albeit carnal, delight. When women are treated as commodities, they are disrespected and degraded,” a post on MTRCB’s Twitter account read.
The subject of the segment, sex, is, according to the board, outside the show’s set parameters – sensitive theme and language – based on the indicators of its SPG pictogram.
The MTRCB set the Mandatory Conference over the matter on Dec. 9.
